What changed
A recent transmission tool update has expanded access for some Ford automatic gearboxes. In practical terms, a few vehicles that were previously harder to support may now be available for review.
The exact result still depends on the gearbox type, software version and the condition of the vehicle.
Why it matters for customers
If you have a Ford automatic and want better shift behaviour or gearbox support, it is now worth asking again. This is not a promise that every Ford is supported, but it does improve the number of vehicles we can check.

What this means for you
Gearbox tuning should still be treated as a vehicle-specific job. We would only recommend it after the vehicle has been diagnosed, the gearbox condition is known and the expected result is realistic for that exact model.
A good calibration can improve shift behaviour where supported, but the correct starting point is always the transmission type, software version and the overall mechanical condition of the vehicle.

This is most relevant for Ford vehicles using the supported automatic transmissions, including models such as Ranger, Transit, Tourneo, Mustang and F-150 where the gearbox type matches the new access route.
