Overview

RemapIQ provides specialized ECU remapping and VAG-specific coding solutions. These terms govern the professional relationship between RemapIQ and its clients to ensure safety, clarity, and performance excellence.

ECU Remapping Services

Standard of Service

We utilize industry-leading equipment, paired with custom-calibrated files from verified tuning house partners. Every remap is precision-applied via the vehicle's OBD-II port or direct ECU bench connection.

Customer Obligations

  • Ensure vehicle is roadworthy and mechanically sound
  • Disclose any existing engine or transmission modifications
  • Undertake regular maintenance as per manufacturer intervals
  • Notify vehicle insurance provider of modifications

Performance Results

  • Quoted gains are estimates based on healthy standard vehicles
  • Actual results may vary based on engine age, wear, and specific ECU variants
  • We tune within safe tolerances; we will not exceed mechanical limits

Battery Registration & VAG Coding

We provide diagnostic coding and battery registration services using ODIS and VCDS for VAG group vehicles (Volkswagen, Audi, SEAT, Skoda), and equivalent OEM diagnostic platforms for other marques.

  • We do not supply physical batteries; customers must source the correct OEM or equivalent AGM/EFB battery.
  • Coding requests (e.g. Needle Sweep, Beep on Lock) are subject to module compatibility. Not all features are available on all trim levels.

Emissions Solutions (DPF / EGR)

Services altering emissions systems (including DPF Delete, EGR Blanking/Delete, Decat) are explicitly sold for Off-Road or Motorsport use only.

  • Removing a DPF or tampering with emissions equipment on a road-going vehicle is illegal in the UK under the Road Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations.
  • Vehicles with removed emissions hardware will fail an MOT test if the modification is detected (e.g. missing DPF casing or visible smoke).
  • The customer accepts full legal responsibility for how the vehicle is used following these modifications. RemapIQ accepts no liability for fines, MOT failures, or vehicle impoundment.

AdBlue (SCR) Solutions

Software disabling of the AdBlue / SCR system is provided strictly to address chronic unresolvable hardware failures where parts are unavailable, or for export/off-road vehicles.

  • As with DPF/EGR solutions, altering emissions output on UK roads is a breach of Construction & Use regulations.
  • The service is provided on an "as-is" basis to restore vehicle drivability. Customer assumes all legal responsibility.

Mobile Service Protocol

We operate a fully mobile service visiting your home or workplace within Greater Manchester and surrounding areas.

  • Access: We require safe parking near the vehicle with space to open doors fully.
  • Weather: As a mobile service, work may be rescheduled in extreme weather (heavy rain, snow) to protect sensitive electronics, unless covered shelter is provided.
  • Power: Access to a mains plug socket is preferred for battery stabilizers during mapping, though our vans are equipped with onboard power.

Payment & Cancellations

  • Payment is due in full upon completion of the work.
  • Accepted methods: Credit/Debit Card (via secure terminal), Bank Transfer, or Cash.
  • We request 24 hours notice for cancellations. Persistent last-minute cancellations may require a deposit for future bookings.

Liability & Warranties

  • Pre-Existing Faults: RemapIQ performs diagnostic scans prior to any work. We are not liable for pre-existing mechanical or electrical faults that become apparent during or after the tuning process.
  • Hardware Failures: Remapping increases the load on engine components. RemapIQ is not responsible for the failure of inherently weak or aged components (e.g. clutches, turbochargers) following a remap.
  • Software Warranty: The tuning software file is guaranteed against corruption for the lifetime of the vehicle. If a dealer overwrites the map during a service, a re-flash fee applies.

Data Protection & GDPR

We take your privacy and the security of your data seriously. By submitting our quote or mailing list forms, you acknowledge that we process the following data for professional service delivery and marketing (where consented):

  • Your name, email address, and phone number for contact purposes
  • Your vehicle registration mark (VRM) to look up technical details
  • Your postcode for mobile service route planning
