What is VAG Coding?
VAG (Volkswagen Audi Group) vehicles contain hidden features in their software that are disabled by default. VAG coding accesses the vehicle's control modules and enables these features without adding new hardware.
The features were developed by Volkswagen but not enabled for all markets or trim levels. Using diagnostic software, technicians can activate them via module reprogramming.
This is different from ECU remapping. Coding doesn't change performance - it unlocks functionality that's already built into the vehicle.

- Mirror dip in reverse - Side mirrors tilt down when reversing for better curb visibility
- Remote windows and sunroof - Open/close via key fob (some vehicles)

Important Limitations
VAG coding only enables features that exist in the vehicle's software. It cannot:
- Add features the vehicle doesn't have in software
- Work if required hardware is missing (e.g., no sunroof = no remote sunroof coding)
- Change vehicle appearance or add new components
- Increase performance (that's ECU remapping)
Hardware check is essential. Before coding, we verify that your vehicle has the hardware required for the feature. Some features are only available on certain trim levels or model years.
Compatibility by Vehicle
Audi (A1, A3, A4, A6, Q2, Q3, Q5)
Most A3, A4, A6 and Q models (2012+) are highly codeable. Pre-2012 models have limited coding options. Modern Audis support the full range of features above.
Volkswagen (Golf, Passat, Tiguan, Polo, T-Roc)
Golf Mk7 (2012+) and newer are excellent for coding. Mk6 and earlier have fewer options. Passat and Tiguan coding varies by model year and market.
Skoda (Octavia, Superb, Karoq)
Skoda Octavia (2013+) and Karoq have good coding support. Superb and Citigo have limited options. Market-specific and trim-dependent.
SEAT (Leon, Ateca, Ibiza)
SEAT Leon (Mk3, 2012+) is very codeable. Ateca and Ibiza support selective coding depending on year.
Safety & Warranty
Is it safe? Yes. Coding only enables existing software features. It doesn't alter performance parameters or remove safety systems. If a feature causes problems, we can disable it.
Will it void warranty? Possibly. Manufacturer warranty may be affected by any module reprogramming. Check your warranty terms and inform your dealer if asked about modifications.
Will it affect insurance? Cosmetic coding (lights, mirrors, gauges) typically doesn't affect premiums. Inform your insurer of any modifications for transparency.
